At O’Rourke Counselling Services, Adam (he/him/his) is dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive space for people who identify as being a part of the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and many other sexual/gender identities) community, along with their families and loved ones.
Being LGBTQ+ is not a mental health concern of its own; rather, discrimination and bullying have put this population at a higher risk of anxiety, depression and suicide. In his practice, Adam strives to create a supportive environment for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their families by using a variety of supportive counselling strategies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to foster acceptance and create positive change through values-based living.
If you or someone you know is looking for help, please e-mail Adam at [email protected] or call/text (709) 765-2547.
