Glenda Reddick

B.Sc. (Psychology), B.Ed., M.Ed. (Counselling Psychology), CCC Canadian Certified Counsellor

Glenda Reddick is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and also an active member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as well as the Newfoundland and Labrador Counsellors’ and Psychologists’ Association (NLCPA).   Within the NLCPA, Glenda has contributed to the broader counselling community as a long-standing member of the Association and has had leadership roles serving on its Executive Board for four years.

Prior to her work as a private counselor she acted as a school counsellor and has more than three decades of experience supporting youth, families, and school communities. Known for her empathy, compassion, and genuine warmth, she creates safe, supportive environments where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.

Glenda’s educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Biology. Her early classroom experiences as a Science teacher shaped her understanding of adolescent development,  sparked a deeper interest in student well-being, and allowed her direct understanding of both student and teacher challenges within the classroom. Her counselling career began in 2002 after she earned a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology from Memorial University. As a school counsellor at one of the largest high schools in NL at Holy Spirit High in Conception Bay South for twenty-two years she supported students and their families through academic, behavioral and mental health challenges,  gender and sexual identity exploration, difficult family situations, career development and transitioning into post-secondary. Through her personal role as the primary support for her mother living with dementia, as well as many other connections with others supporting their loved ones, Glenda has gained significant insight and first-hand knowledge of the complexities of dementia care.

Throughout her career, Glenda has developed extensive expertise in assessment and support for learning disorders, neurodiversity including autism and attentional deficit disorder, and mental health challenges. She is a strong advocate for inclusive practices and has significant experience supporting Indigenous individuals and marginalized populations. Her work is grounded in a strengths-based, client-centered approach, with a particular emphasis on resilience, mindfulness and holistic well-being empowering individuals to navigate life’s challenges with acceptance and clarity. She has had a wealth of experience working collaboratively with clients experiencing mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, borderline personality disorder and other personality disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, and disordered eating. She employs diverse therapeutic modalities tailored to individual needs including Cognitive-behavioral therapy, Mindfulness based Cognitive therapy, Trauma- Focused CBT, Somatic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Emotion Focused Family therapy, and Dialectical Behavior therapy.

Glenda works with a client base through Way Forward Counselling and Wellness that includes both adults and adolescents from the age of 12.  In all therapeutic work she strives to help clients develop better coping skills and draw upon their own resilience to better manage their thoughts and emotions in making positive change in their lives. Please reach out if you feel ready to find your way forward.
